If you remove everything that is a copyright infringement by March 16, 2013, your forum will not be banned/deleted. And remove everything that is in violation. If you have removed everything by the time the timer runs out, then your forum will be fine.

There are a lot of laws regarding copyright infringements that the public is largely unaware of. It is easy to have unknowingly infringed on copyrights. Some examples of copyright infringement include:

* Putting songs not written by you up for download
* Posting copyrighted images without the permission of the author. (this is usually very easy to accidentally do, since it is often difficult to identify copyrights on images.)
* Putting movies and videos up for download.
* Posting song lyrics (Many people find this to be a bit strict, but it's still copyright infringement. )
* Putting software that is not free up for download.
* Linking to piracy sites (It's a good idea to very carefully moderate all posts on your forum. One user's link to sites like this could trigger a copyright infringement flag on your forum, and forum owners are still held responsible for it. )
* Appearing to support software piracy in any way
* Posting large quotes of books and texts that aren't free. (Single lines are not copyright infringement due to fair use policy; however, entire chapters of books not in the public domain are clearly a copyright infringement. )

If any of the above is on your forum, it may trigger the copyright infringement flag. There are many other examples of copyright infringement I didn't mention, so if you still cannot identify the problem, it's a good idea to do some research to learn about the different laws involved. There is quite a lot to it.

Forumotion has no choice but to flag forums that have copyright infringement, however. Not only do they risk being shut down if they fail to do so, but Google tends to blacklist domains that have illegal activity going on, which has been the horror of many free forum hosts. When a free forum hosting provider's domain gets blacklisted, all of their sites operating on that domain are no longer visible by Google, which, needless to say, means very bad things in today's world.

I do not believe you can just buy the copyrights. The owners of the copyrights have to be willing to sell them.
