Question(s) About Blacklisting/Reporting
So... I was using my step sisters computer a while back for a project as I forgot mine at a friends house (I didn't exactly tell her I was using it as she would have said no and I really needed to do the project). Well when I finished I was just kind of surfing the web a bit, or I was going to. When I opened her browser though some of her recent tabs caught my eye. Curious, I followed them where I was taken to a forumotion site. This site appears to contain some inappropriate content. So I intended to report it however in the process of doing so a thought occurred to me that made me pause from sending it... What will happen? I mean obviously the site will get taken down but what else? Will she (my step sister) get blacklisted (as it does appear to be her forum)? That seems the logical thing to me... But if so will that effect me? Is it done by IP because we live in the same house so we have the same IP right? So if she gets blacklisted would I essentially be blacklisted as a result? And if so what would that mean? Would I not be able to access forumotion because honestly that is just a depressing thought as I pretty much all but live on forumotion... So if this does happen would there be something I could do to get back on forumotion? I didn't send the report yet... I fully intend to (sadly even if it means I do get blacklisted) however I would just like the answers to these questions first (sorry I know there are kind of a lot but they are all related). I would basically like to know what happens when I report it and how this may effect me, if it does at all...

Are you sure that the forum was created by your sister?

I am about 98% sure... she had the admin accounts username and password saved. Not sure if I really described that right where people can understand... but you know where the username and password boxes automatically fill when you go to a forum so all you have to do is click log in? It was like that..
Re: Question(s) About Blacklisting/Reporting
Such Forumotion policies, whether the IP of the users are blacklisted or not cannot be revealed. I am sorry.
Yes, if the IP does get blacklisted. Your access to Forumotion can get jeopardized too. Because, its generally the IP of your ISP & not your individual computer.
So its your decision, what you want to do.

Well that's certainly troublesome for me... But thanks though... I would really like to avoid being blocked from forumotion if I can... I think I'll try speaking with her and see if I can convince her to take it down before looking into anything else. That will be an uncomfortable conversation...
Would there be nothing I could do to get unblocked if I were?

There is nothing that can be done. Sorry.

Interesting question. Wouldn't it make sense in such cases where one member from the same household respects the rules of Forumotion but the other member does not, in order to ban the actual member, the just way is to ban their computer's physical MAC address? That way the other rule abiding member, such as Selvester, can continue to with his forum. Thus, Forumotion does their end and in Selvester's case, his parents take care of their sister from their end?

If only... I am going to try and convince my sister today to take it down so as to avoid any problems with this. Hopefully she will see my side rather than focusing on the fact that I was using her computer. But that will probably be the point that stands out to her... -_-
