need help with my forum

been with forumotion for a good few years but am really struggling with my forum, getting people posting and also getting people out there to sign up.

been on the internet to get tips but nothing i try seems to be working.

it is a health forum, not sure if it is popular any more unlike years  so any tips from you guys welcome which may work.

did have a standard blue theme and after a review told it was a bit too medically and needed to stand out more so have since changed the theme to a grey with blue in it which does seem more appealing.

one thing the forum rooms are in grey but would like the topic posts in a white background with black writing so not sure how to do that and don't want to change anything then have to do the theme again.

here in the UK there are some really big forums swamping up the UK lot so not sure if this is one reason why ours is getting overlooked a little bit.

have got plenty of topics on the forum.

any help and advice welcome from you guys.

Have your brought yourself a custom domain name? I think that helps considerably in getting new members. But, retaining those members depends on the content & the atmosphere at your forum.

did buy a custom domain when it first started and kept with the same one for the last few years but am thinking that the name i choose may be one of the reasons for the problems, it is coming up for renewal after Christmas so may look in to picking something more suitable to match the forum theme i have.

if i do pick a new domain name, do i first delete the old domain name then after completion then pick another name?

one question how do i change the background colour of the topic posts, at the moment it is a grey background with black writing but want a white background with black writing so they stand out a bit better?
