How to delete a member from a group easily?

The way I understand it, if you want to move a member from one group to another, you first open the group and delete the member, then open another group and add this member.
To delete a member from a group it seems we have to find him first, tick the box and click delete.
Now I have hundreds of members in one group. When I try to delete the member, I find it very difficult to locate the member by checking pages one by one.
Is there an easy way to locate and delete the member from the group?

I did some searching in the ACP and the usergroups area and I believe this is the only way you can do it.

It might be a bit easier directly on forum since pages contain 50 members each (instead of 20 in ACP)
On forum, members in a group are sorted by alphabetical name (joining date on ACP)

I just tried that. It's good. But there's another problem. I'm administrating a Chinese forum. The user names consist of Chinese characters. Indeed those begin with the same character are together, but in general I cannot tell what they are sorted by.
For example, the 1st characters are listed and sorted as(Chinese character + its pinyin):
一yi 三san 上shang 不bu 东dong 丝si 丫ya 丹dan 为wei 九jiu 二er 云yun 伴ban......
What are those sorted by?

I mean to delete members form a group so they become normal members and lose certain permissions.
Or when I want to move some members to another group so they have different permissions of the forums, I need to delete them from existing group first. Is that right?

Well, truth be told, it would be better if you had your members register in English names but it does depend on you. If for example, you're deleting a large amount of members in a certain group, why don't you just delete that group? It would take less time to adjust permissions than to sort it out with the members OR you can just rename that group and then delete the ones that you aren't supposed to delete and move those in another group.

Overall, it's just the manner of how you can think of doing it faster.

Thanks for the idea. It's defenitely useful. However my case is the opposite. I need to delete limited members from a group that has a large amount of users. Over 20 pages in ACP group user list, and with increasing register, you can imagine how difficult even if you just want to delete one or two members from the group.
Inspired by Neptune I looked the list in ACP. Members are sorted by an sequence ID there. So I find a relatively quicker way to locate one member. First I search users and from the user page URL I found a U= value, which is the sequence ID. Then I go to group panel and from the members list I click an estimated page. I can decide whether to go forward or backward according to the ID of the users from his/her URL.
I just wish someone has a better way to do it.

Here's a suggestion. Add group moderators in a group and if you have a staff section, you can post the names of the ones you need deleted in a specific group and your moderators can do it.

The problem is with the ranks, right? Well, if you want, you can increase the administrator or make them temporal so you won't shoulder all the work.

  Haha, actually I am one of the administrators. Not the creator.
And also, I'm not aware of group moderators that can delete a group member? The only option to me is to have administrator to delete a member from a group.

Hello ^

Each usergroup has one (and only one) group moderator. This user can be admin, moderator or even user. And this user can add and remove people from his group.

Usually it is the founder who is group moderator.
I just tried and even if it is the founder who is group moderator it can be changed by any admin.

So you could choose one of your moderators to help in that task

Did you attempt to make a person the moderator of a certain group?

ACP < Users & Group < Group Administration < Click on the   of the group < Group Moderator: Name of the person you wish to assign as the one who'll add or remove the members < Save

They should be able to see check boxes whenever they click the group in the index page and add or remove a member in that specific group in their will.

I do believe we have quipped everyone in the post with many suggestions so I personally do not think that the involvement of mass deletion buttons would be necessary, even if a forum is too big. Especially if the staff functions really well for it .
