Transfer

Hi guys, i was wondering can i transfer forumotion on other host like phpbb3,myBB,SMF or something like that?
Second question is, if i buy domain from forumotion can i transfer domain to another forum?

The answer to this question is yes and no, yes you can transfer the forum, but you must do this yourself and it is extremelly difficult as you can not transfer the data and everything due to the database being owned by forumotion. It might be easier to simply create a new forum and have your members transfer their posts over manually. If you have a really active community it may just be the best thing to remain on forumotion and tolerate them, as it is a very risky and extremelly difficult task to do. I do not think you can transfer your domain name over with it, I am not sure about this though.

So overall yes while there are ways to this, it is very difficult and I am not sure what problems may be incurred, but I know the only way to ensure a 100% smooth transfer on any website anywhere is to do it through the database, which only forumotion has access to and will not let you into.

No the admins will not help you.

What I said was that it is POSSIBLE and there are ways to do so... but you are ON YOUR OWN. You must find the tools to do so yourself and then do it. Forumotion will not help you.

You can not transfer your forum from Forumotion, but you can transfer a forum to Forumotion.

Viper... that is only transfer a NON-Forumotion forum to forumotion, not transfer away from it.
