Home page or Portal

I would like Forum to open in Home and still have Portal available is this possible

sorry cannot understand what your means there, do you means to change that link 'home' to 'Forum' ??

When i turn Portal on it opens first when you go to the Forum
members like both but want the home page to open first and then have the option of opening the Portal

is this possible

Sorry but no. After you activate the portal it will become your homepage.

some members complain that instead of viewing the Portal immediately after log-in, they got the Home page instead..any help?

If you want them to go to the home page first just have them bookmark the home page. It is just your forum address with /index.htm added to the end. That way they will go to the index page rather than the portal page. Right now if you have a portal set up it is the default page when your forum address is typed in the address bar.

Somebody suggested this a while back. I actually was hoping to get it to take you back to wherever you were, so if you were in a thread and decided you wanted to post so you log in, then it would take you back to that thread. It seems as though they might be doing some changes here though in the next update they are working on, because last week sometime I noticed that every time I log in I go to my portal now, it used to go to the homepage.

i'm sorry if this question has been asked already..i'm not aware of that..i've browsed through the list of topics available for portal and didn't find anything like this one...so is there anything i can do to permanently make the Portal as my homepage?..with the portal, i have better mobility and available html's than the Home page..the portal's more customizable and easier to personalize..

Once you activate your portal it is your homepage. The OP is having an issue the opposite way, they want their forum index to remain the homepage. Right now if your portal isn't active the index is your homepage, if your portal is active then the portal is your home page. If you type in your forum address, assuming your portal is active, it should take you straight to the portal. If this isn't happening then you are probably adding the extra /index.htm to the end of your url, which is the specific address for the index.

yup..i've got the Portal activated since the forum was created and yes it is MY homepage..i was just surprized when some members complained they weren't able to notice right away the improvements made on the Portal because it is not their homepage..i gave them my link to log-in but still same thing was happening..after logging in, they're still back to the homepage instead of the portal..thanks by the way for your attention..very appreciated

I'm wondering if there is an update coming that changes that. Because I noticed early last week sometime that I now get directed to the portal when I log in. Since not everybody is seeing that yet, I'm guessing it is part of an update.

you're right travis_cooper..it was that way some time ago - logging in and going straight to the homepage..so it was a very welcome change/update for me to be able to log-in and go straight to the portal now..but some members are still experiencing the old log-in procedure...

It could be a caching problem. Have them clear their cache and see if that fixes the problem.

Can we change to have our portal to be viewed immediately after log-in? Please i need to have the portal as the main page, not the index, even after log-in

You know, this is interesting. For the past couple of weeks it has been taking me to the portal after logging in. Yesterday I noticed that it was taking me to the index again. I thought there was a suggestion on this, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I remember the thread and voting for it, but I can't seem to find it. I would actually like the login to take me to wherever I happened to be, a thread, the home page, the portal, wherever I was when I hit login, that is where I want to go back to.

just a while i noticed something else..
one of my moderator found that, after log-in, he is directed to usergoups page.. neither the index nor the portal.. and it happened since days..

does anyone experience this?
