Icon colour change

When I go to my forum, the new posts are highlighted red. Good. But if I don;t read all the posts, next time I go there, the unread posts are no longer highlighted. I miss a few posts that way. Is there a way that unread posts can remain highlighted regardless of the number of times one visits?
