Can you tell me if this is true? Can people get into the members only part without us knowing? This anonymous has been bombarding us all day with messages like this (via a blog) warning us that another blog wants to cause us trouble.

most likly bluffing. There is no way, unless there is a hacker, that he can do that. Did he give the link to the site that wants to cause trouble? if so, pm it to an admin and do not post it here.
