Is there a way to have all new members have automatic & generic avatar?

Hi folks,

Just wondering if there is a way that any new members who join your forum and don't choose an avatar, will be assigned a basic generic avatar that the admin assigns?

yes there is go to admin panel/ users&groups/user opitions then click on the user that you want then there is an options with a avatars that you can pick

but there is no avatar option when people join that they get an avatar when they register

This is the answer I was looking for (in bold). I didn't think it was possible, but I thought I would ask just in case.

To have a "default avatar"

go to

admin panle
Display
Avatars
Avatar Gallery

Click on Avatars Managemnet

Now paste links to the avatars you want and click save!

Panel=> Display=> Avatars

then click the avatar gallety and browse the pix that you want to display for those new mem who doesn't have photo then set it as default..save!

Done!

Hello again guys...lol. Ok, I see where the option is but it doesn't appear to be working. I want to define a specific avatar for people who don't choose one. It says to copy and paste the address of the avatar you want to use, but when I do, then I get a message saying that the file must be a .gif.jpg etc...and the file is a .gif file.

Ok...I GOT IT!!!! Sorry, sorry sorry...nevermind...and thanks again.

Not sure...It didn't change the members who haven't uploaded an avatar. I guess it will only work now for any new members who register now and since the change.
