Connection Timeout
Hello, my forum, the-alternates.forumotion.com, seems to be having troubles. Around 6 to 7 pm pacific time it states that the connection is timed out. Is there anything I can do? Buy additional bandwidth or something? I bought points to make it add free and memory for the gallery. This the message I receive
Request Timeout
This request takes too long to process, it is timed out by the server. If it should not be timed out, please contact administrator of this web site to increase 'Connection Timeout'.
Thanks

Re: Connection Timeout
Hello.
By pacific time, you mean which timezone in GMT ?
For example, where I live is America Eastern zone which is GMT-5 In my timezone, if there are request timeouts when there is no server downtime, it happens usually around 8:20 pm which is the time when the daily backups are done on all boards, so it causes some disturbances. Without these daily backups, admins wouldn't be able to restore their board to a previous date in case of need...

Re: Connection Timeout
I'm in Portland Oregon. So my site is not in danger of closing down? That is great. So I'll just post a black out time of 8:20 pm eastern standard time? Thank you very much.

Re: Connection Timeout
I say 8:20 p.m because it's usually at this time that I notice some disturbances, when I have the "délai d'attente dépassé" message (my firefox is in french)
Re: Connection Timeout
does this happen daily? Or just a once and awhile issue?

Re: Connection Timeout
I'm not sure... I am not always on my PC at this time. For example, I'm never there before late in the evening on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Now, let's stop this dicsussion, I want to get to bed soon, it's already 12:13 a.m at home...
