Merging Forums? Empty Merging Forums?

I like the looks & functions of different page layouts. Is it possible to combine two different forums? For example...I want my main page to look like this - http://tw200.forumotion.com (phpbb2) but the rest of my pages to remain as they are.
I'm using phpbb3 here - http://www.xr650rforum.com

The only way I see this being possible is to modify the CSS. Of course my brain is small and there is probably a lot more to it.
