First topic message reminder :

Edit Caihlem; This topic isn't about the future update for all the forums that the technicians of ForuMotion are busy working on. This thread is about the works of Placehold (who isn't a payed technician of ForuMotion)

Hey,

This information was not found by myself, I am simply posting about it...

When a friend of mine was surfing all the forums he was a member of, he discovered a new post in the announcements section on one of the forums...

Heres what it reads:

Hello

On Monday 02/02/2009 TWS staff have decided to make a start on publicly testing the new V5 theme and forum applications never seen before on Forumotion boards.

The staff will upload everything including some new features, The features are as follows

New stylish theme
Sidebar navigation
Praise facility (Will remain a beta)
Profile comments
New easier to navigate Forum selection page
New icons
New staff Badges/Rank Badges
New topic layout
New Addition to the TWS staff
New surprise forum (This will be announced after the launch)
Smaller forum size
Larger fonts
"Status" section is C/P that appears on Posts (Similar to that of myspace, facebook and bebo)
New profile drop down icons
New edit, quote and delete buttons
New logo/Banner

Hopefully this will be rolled out to ALL forumotion boards eventually, Using TWS as the pilot forum.

The main concern for the staff is that members may feel lost when they first access the forum, So we have decided to remove the current homepage and replace it, Upon entering the forum users will be faced with a 2 -3 lines of images, On each line is 5 images which represent and are linked to different forum section.

Simply hover over the images to get a text pop up letting you know what the forum section is. This may seem confusing however upon testing it proved to be fairly efficient as you will be able to see ALL the forum sections without having to scroll down the page.

The main forum sections can ALWAYS be located on the vertical navigation bar which will be found to the left of the forum.
We are also currently testing new images appearing once a new post is added to each section as it normally does, The only difference will be the displayed image.

If you do find that it is confusing or overly confusing please let a staff member know or post your feeling into the new discussion section that will be created for the beta theme on Monday.

There will be glitches and we have anticipated these glitches however they should be small, few and far between.Any concerns please feel free to contact our customer team or myself.

Regards
Placehold

Now I hope most of you know where to find his forum if you want to see the update beta testing in progress because I will not give out the link here..

Cant hide from us placehold What a Face

Drag~

[EDIT]

And please Caihlem and Placehold dont skin me alove because i flooded TechWebSupport *cough*techwebsupport.com*cough* with members that will leave after the update is out

Well thank you for telling me,

I would like to say firstly EVERYTHING on TWS is copyrighted and protected by digital copy right law which is in the T & C and pop ups lmao also the code is dependant on alot of other factored setups with internal settings and may not turn out correctly

I advise you to please wait until the release of the tutorials where i can guarantee the codes are safe

Regards

Yup, If you navigate to the front page it should tell you what is covered by copyright,
Its something we have done only to protect or work from other companies until we have set up tutorials, At that point once we give consent then people can use our work. Until then it is still protected

Sorry

aha ha aha ha ah ... like I said placehold... you showed the world the mods... they'll come running with requests... and if I am not wrong it was you who told me to keep some things away from the public...
Spoiler:

And with attitudes like that don't ever seek help here if you should ever come to need it.

The thanks feature should be in the persons post not a separate post. Will be a bit hard to follow a long topic if we keep seeing posts that are just for thanks.

But as said in PM to Placehold, a different style! Very different.

whats wrong with it?
If you know how to edit it then you can edit it.
When I make my premium skins I also remove the copyright tag... because
a) I have permission to do so...
b) its a bonus for the buyer.

Well then he is either confused himself or he has special permission. Look at his post here: https://help.forumotion.com/administration-panel-problems-f44/can-i-remove-this-t23534.htm#133393

well yeah that would be a gift for people that actually contribute actively helping Forumotion growing by their tremendous work here, rather than just complaining and critizicing everything that comes out from us, see the difference?

we always offer bonuses and special offers to people that help us make Forumotion a better and more efficient service, by their work done for us.

_Steve__ ;
No one here, Typlo included, is obliging you to stay. If you really were so happy about the services provided, the general impression of your posts wouldn't be as they are.
In any case, it isn't written anywhere that he mentionned You in particular. Also, I ask you notice the slight difference between an average Forum Admin and Jalokim, who has largely produced the Shopmotion graphics, free of charge, who has founded the Graphics Designers on this forum, who actively submits some of the best skins on HitSkin and who even now regularly passes time everyday ensuring this forum runs smoothly. Even I who has been here for over 3 years cannot boast as much.

Typlo; Meeting point; anywhere between my headquarters and a nice cosy and quite place huhohi

Typlo, Please make a clear and to the point decision here if you dont mind.

Can we:

Delete the link back to forumotion and just leave text?
Can we change the link to say something like affiliates buttons?
Can we __________ what can we do?

Placehold? loove
You mean the free-lance coder who provides support to many members here. Support which includes coding and scripts support, support which many members of all the staffs have difficulties answering? The same guy who'se just finished working on a bunch of personal add-ons he's proposing freely to ForuMotion and their users?
You talking about that guy? ùù
