Before Purchasing a Domain

Ok, I have thought about purchasing a domain from forumotion. And I was just a bit curious about a few things.

Firstly. When we buy the domain for however many credits. Are we charged by the year. or when the domain has run it's coarse it will revert to the original sub domain then having the need for me to re-purchase the domain?

Secondly can we transfer a domain we purchase outside of Forumotion into our forum. and vise Versa?

Thank's Tonya. That topic explains all but one of my question's. Can I still transfer my domain to different host other than forumotion. or vise versa?

If you want to transfer users, messages, etc. from forumotion to other host, isn't possible, because you can't transfer the database
