Auto Refresh on Chatbox isn't working anymore.

For some reason, Auto Refresh won't work anymore.
It only refreshes every time I post.
I've tried logging out and back in, and closing the screen and going back on.
Apparently it won't fix the problem.
(I also made sure the Auto Refresh button is checked, it is.)
So can anyone please help?

- Disable the Chatbox and enable it to see if that will fix the problem?

Or:

- The skin has a bug and needs changing?

This has happened to me quite a few times. You will have to just keep clicking refresh yourself.

This certainly works.

chat box is not refreshing for me (admin) nor my members who wish to chat, this has only started in the last few days.
Disabling doesn't work (if it does it short term)

Can someone sort it?

Same problem here with some of my members.

Just created an account here to say that my forum is having the same issues.

I have cleared my cache, and disabled the chat module. Nothing is helping and it is only with portions of the membership. Not every member is having this issue.

OK, I'm still having this problem. Now yesterday, I had everybody log out. I went and disabled the chat box and validated. I went back to the site, refreshed. The chat box was gone. I went back and reactivated the chatbox and validated. I went back to the site and everybody logged back in. The problem was fixed. However, today the auto refresh went down again. It is fixed (for a while at least) by disabling and reactivating, but I don't want to have to do that several times a day, especially since I never had to in the first place. Also, my chat box can not be read anymore unless I log in to the chatbox. Maybe these two issues are related?

Autorefresh works for me in IE but not with Firefox.

We've just started encountering the same issue on our site in the last few days.

As it runs of javascript/ajax (i think, that or refreshes every time), make sure there are no javascript errors on your site, as one error will mean all of javascript not wokring.

My members have been reporting chatbox script errors again. This happened a couple weeks ago, and apparently it is back. It only seems to happen in IE. I've noticed it goes away once I clear all previous messages, but maybe after a while it comes back again?

We've been having all of these problems as well.

Is tech support looking at the chat box problems? There have been 3 threads started on this now. This is not an isolated problem, obviously.

Yes, agreed, it would be nice to have someone from tech support comment on this thread. At least to say they are not sure of what is happening yet, but that they are aware we are all having issues. Right now it sort of feels like no one really gives a hoot.

I am having the same issue in Firefox.

The chatbox is a very big part of my forum, so I hope that this gets resolved soon.

Just to clarify my issues are using Firefox as well.

This problem is getting worse, affecting everyone in my forum now. Clearing cache or disabling/enabling the chatbox doesn't seem to work.

Being ignored leads to frustration & anger

The lack of concern on tech's support side makes me wonder why we are continuing to give them our business. There are other forum formats out there to use. I do not like the thought of switching, but I would prefer that agony over the agony the forum members are giving me and going through with this software.

A simple reply from ANY tech person would be extremely appreciated. At least give me something to take back to our board to post, showing that you DO care about your format AND your revenues.

OK. One of my admins and I did some testing. I can have people in the chatbox and auto refresh does not work. I can go and deactivate and reactivate the chatbox and auto refresh will work. However, if someone disconnects then comes back, auto refresh once again does not work properly until I once again deactivate and reactivate the chatbox.

The techs know about this issue and they are working their best to fix this issue. Please give them some time and it will be fixed. Also please stop compaining about the services saying it sucks they are the worste forum host out here etc.....

With all due respect Mr. Mario, I went up and re-read the entire thread. No one has posted anything in regards to this being the worst forum host out there. And the only complaining I can see in this thread is regards to the LACK of comment from any tech person.

I did mention that there are other forum hosts out there. I did not say they were better or worse, just that there was some others to choose from. And, realistically, with the complaints I am getting from my members and THEM asking me if there is a different service to switch to....it isn't an outlandish thought to switch if there was not going to be any help or reply from tech support here. I have to do what my members want...just like every other admin out there, within reason of course. A chat box is a very important feature to most boards.

With all due respect, it is the lack of respect to us that we are frustrated with. Please don't make it worse by coming here and slamming us for something that wasn't said.

I understand the problem is that the techs don't come to this forum as they don't speck English and the only person that has connection to them is Typlo. The one thing I can suggest till its fixed is Googling a chatbox and getting the HTML code.
