Is this a good idea that should be implemented in Forumotion?
A "special members" forum
So, basically, when you create a forum or catagory, you have the option to put a password on it, so if you would like to have a "basic" membership and a "advanced" or "premium" area, where when you upgrade to the premium level, the Admin's email you the password to get in the special forums.
And when non-members try to go to it, it will say a custom block of text; example: "Sorry! You are not a premuim member, and you cannot enter this forum. Click here to become a premuim member and get a ton of new things!"
Something like that.
And when non-members try to go to it, it will say a custom block of text; example: "Sorry! You are not a premuim member, and you cannot enter this forum. Click here to become a premuim member and get a ton of new things!"
Something like that.

no, they have something where you can change who can view certain forums.
I'm talking about having a text field called "password" when you create/edit forums. You can type in a password, and give it to certain members, that way only certain people see certain forums.
It could help if you have 500+ members and would like to start a free and paid service.

Re: A "special members" forum
I think that is the same thing you give member password to see a category or to put in a special group that can see that the category
Re: A "special members" forum
I would like this, but i already can do it.
I did on my forum.
I just make it set to people who are a certain rank, and once they reach that rank, they can post in the forum, and i add them to a hidden group, that allows any person in that group, to post in that forum....only problem is that it's not auto-matic.
So Yes!

Re: A "special members" forum
cool. It'll also be cool if they let us customize more, without having to use HTML or CSS. Like the copyright on the footer, or a affilate widget that we can actually put in OUR affilates.

Re: A "special members" forum
Seems like a very good idea, just like in vBulletin.
Anyways, can I become an Admin and help you out, because I am very familiar with Forumotion, and I think that I can be very helpful. I also like your skin lol.

By the way, I can't register on your forums, it keeps on sending me "The confirmation code you entered is incorrect."

And I tried several times, but still the same thing.
