new post identifyer not working

i tried the fix i found in another post but it did not work (renewing url)

i seemed to have this problem in IE8 i switched to firefox and it is fine now.

i think he means the NEW POST icon does not display when a new post is posted, it just stays at NO NEW POSTS icon. thats the problem i had anyway.

yes that is correct it says no new post even when there is

Check and make sure your icon is not hidden and that the image is there.

Admin panel>Display>pic's management>advanced mode.
click on (icons for topics) scroll down to (subject new) and make sure the image is there and the hide box is not checked off.

the image is there the hide button is not checked still no luck

is it appearing as a small whit box with a red x in it?
if so it's probably your browser and it's like the whole page is not loading?
check on the bottom left of your page and see if there is a (error on page)

if you post your link i can see if it's doing it for me too.
is this happening for other members too?

you can also try changing the skin then switch it back again or even the version the same way.

It is happening to my site too. I have a "smiley" that is upside down when there are new posts, but all my smiley's are always right sideup suggesting there are no new posts.

I have also tried changing to a different icon it shows at the bottom of the page but not when there is a new post

I guess there is no fix for this problem. I will try to find a fix for it on the net

Since the problem appers to be solved.
i will now mark as solved and lock the thread

For those of you that do not have it working.
make sure that you have the (new) icon image in both (categorie new)
and (post new) also be sure to make sure the image is not hidden.
if you still have a problem pm me.
