Using HTML for Newsletters Empty Using HTML for Newsletters

Post by Lori♥TheTazzyLady September 28th 2009, 9:39 pm

Hi everyone..

I am in charge of sending our forums newsletter out each month. I belong to others forums that sendings them as well and they use borders and so forth in the newsletters. I have HTML enable in both my admin panel and my personal profile. Can anyone tell me how to go about starting this?

I know the codes for borders in the forum..but when I used it for a newsletter it didn't work.

Any help is appreciated as I did look in the FAQ first.

Many Thanks!

For the Choose a method : what are you picking? Rich text with HTML or simple text? Rich Text with HTML should be working.

I got it to work.

Make sure that you hit the Using HTML for Newsletters Act-html by the Rich Text HTML. Then type your message and click Preview.

That should work Smile

And this is how the email came to me in my hotmail account.

As you can see, the borders are not the same.

Here is the HTML coding that I used to get those screen shots.

I don't know, .gif images probably don't work in emails. I tested your coding out on an html page, and this is what came out:
Or maybe, your computer isn't moving at a quality level to support the .gif animation of your border images.

But anyway, I don't know. HOWEVER, I did manage to improve the HTML you are using with better placement and tagging:
If you want to use that, then here's the code:
Code:
<span style="font-family: Century Gothic, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #ffffff; size: 2px;"><font color="gray">
<div style="background-image: url(http://i892.photobucket.com/albums/ac130/Paradise_giz/fall1.gif); padding: 5px; border: 1px solid #000000;"><div style="background-color: #6F4C22; padding: 5px; border: 1px solid #000000;"><div style="background-image: url(http://i892.photobucket.com/albums/ac130/Paradise_giz/fall1.gif); padding: 5px; border: 1px solid #000000;"><div style="background-color: #D67300; padding: 5px; border: 1px solid #000000;"><div style="background-color: #ffffff; padding: 5px; border: 1px solid #000000; text-align: center;">

<div style="margin:auto;text-align:center;width:100%"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v413/tazzylady/Paradise%20Rocks%20Tags/Turtle_LM.gif" border="0" alt="" /></div>
