Guest posting on forum

Hi!
I'm new to this forum and I need to know how I can change the settings so that Guest can not post nor view the forum but Members, Moderators and Administrators can. I want Guest to have to join before they can see or post. I see where I can turn unselect the Guest from viewing and/or posting but then the boxes up above that turn blank. If I select "All" will that be Guest, Members, Moderators and Admininstrators?

Yes I got that part but what I want to know is if I select All, Members, Administrators for these topics?

I want only Members and Administrators to be able to have access. If I select Members for each, does that give the Administrators the above mentioned too?

Okay I have it so that Members can view, read, write and reply.

What is Special messages dealing with?
