Mailbox alerts? Empty Mailbox alerts?

I was wondering if there is a way to get an alert when an email arrives?

I have an email address and have given my mods one each, can they change there passwords once I have set them up?

Is there any reason why forumotion is using Horde - as I have never heard of them and they seem quite primative...

if so what about the email password changes by the people I set them for
