Why can't forums be protected? Empty Why can't forums be protected?

I'm sorry if this is off-topic, i couldnt figure out where to put it.

I remember reading somewhere that forumotion can't make password-protected forums. why not? I'm just wondering because i know sites like proboards can do that.

The only things i could think of are either it costs too much money OR a website has helped fund forumotion.com at one point and they only agreed to help fund it if they would never add the password-protected forum feature Smile sooooo am i right?

I agree
It can pi** me off easily you know....
I consider this unposiblity as the resolution that I run a free demo forum.
This demo is pretty rich, I know.
This unpossibility can be fixed by one click, doesn't it ?
I do not know who or where somebody should click...

Can I use it for one forum section only ?
I do not need whole forum or web page to protect

//edit:
You made an example on the forum as I can see ? forum can display html page ? Very Happy Shocked

It should mean, that what am I asking is possible, but I do not know how.
