How to Make people Admin/Mods Empty How to Make people Admin/Mods

Post by Novalye November 11th 2007, 1:28 pm

I have got myself an admin, and I forgot how to do it. So I went into the "User Groups" and clicked on "Moderators" and I added someone. But when they log in, at the bottom screen their color is blue when Mods are supposed to be pink. Did I do this wrong or something? Thanks!

No , I think you need to edit their Profile , and you will see this:
''Give Rank for this member''
Select Moderator and then go on Permission and give them Permission to control their forum.

When I go into their profile in the Administartation Panel, went into users/groups, went into the users and clicked on hims name, then I clicked on the tab called "Permissions" and this appeared, "You can change the informations related to the users. You just have to click on the user’s nickname. You can also send him an email or a pm by clicking on his address."
What does this mean I have to do?

Look i didn fully understand what you said but i think that the person you made a moderator is also an admin (thats why he is with blue... because admin is a higher ranked user group)

If you wanna have more groups show on the bottom of the page you make tha groups and then you sellect Color Group Members ?: yes

What the heck guys. You guys explain nothing to me. Tell me how to change a dude from a regular player( I know he is a regular player because he is logged in neither color pink(mod) or blue(admin)).

And, where in administration panel do I go to make more things that show up for example: Admin Mod Vetran Star

Please explain better!

Have you created the Moderator rank? If not go to admin panel=>Users & Groups=>Ranks=>Rank Administration and press the "create a new rank" button. Choose "Set as Special Rank" Yes and leave the "minimum posts" empty.

Well as far as I know you can't have a permanent color. You have to choose the color you want to write in every time you write.

You can use this tag.
Code:
[color=red] your text here[/color]
replace your text here with any text you want and post it in your forum.

How to Make people Admin/Mods Empty Moderator is not already considered a rank?

Post by timat10 January 27th 2008, 2:29 am

Excuse me, but I'm really getting lost here now. I set up my new account, I am Administrator. I had one person join, I have not been notified of them joining, I thought I would... guess I'll have to just check every hour to change all the individual settings for each person. I want to make this new user Moderator, and like the above post I cannot find the options you mention with having her password.
Shouldn't there just be a button to click on by her name to make her a moderator for my forum?
Thanks

Well, that really messed things up. I followed your instructions above, now I have a new group called Moderators, plus the new person is listed below that with permissions to moderate and my forum message disappeared. I don't get the purpose of all this. I believe this is way out of my league. I'll go back to hard-coding HTML.

Thanks

I remind that double posting isn't tolerated unless separated by 24 hours, you can use the edit button Wink
and to answer your question if you made a group called "Moderators"(though there is one already since you made the forum) all you have to do is add that member to that group by going to admin panel=>Users & Groups=>Groups=>Group Administration. Choose the group you want by clicking on this icon How to Make people Admin/Mods Editer next to the group you want.On the next page scroll down the page until you find the "Group Members" members section. There you can type the name of the member you wan to add in that group and click on the "Add member" button.
