widgets only on homepage through template editing?

Is it possible to have the widgets showing only on the homepage through template editing? Having them on every page is really disruptive and takes away needed space on posts...

I hope its possible to achieve it in some way... otherwise I hope forumotion implements some option for this, as I've seen a lot of people ask about it. (though I didn't find any about template editing)

There is a way.. but it need some hard work to fix it.. i found the widgets template and added it in the homepage only... but now its missed up :d
