Solved IP Banned

Post by Korvus Starlight June 25th 2011, 11:29 pm

Recently I have been IP banned it seems from my guild's forum. The url is here: http://thearmyoflight.forumotion.com/
I am able to sign in through a proxy and the mods assure me that I am not banned however as you can see in this screenshot I am clearly banned.

The only thing I can think of is that someone from forummotion had to have banned me. So if an admin could fix this It would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Hello,

Have you checked your admin panel if youre banned?

1. Administration Panel
2. User & Groups
3. Users > Ban Control

Or your IP has just automatically banned?

I'm not an Admin, however I have friends who are and they say that I am not banned according to their end. I am obviously able to access these forums which are apart of forumotion and the only obvious thing that comes to mind is that a member of the forumotion staff banned my IP from that website itself. I still have access to my account however and can reach the forum when I use a proxy.

Hello,

Therefore, you should contact the administrator/s directly why your IP is banned.

According to that Forum's Admin I am not banned in any way, shape, or form. How would I get in contact with the Admin/staff of forumotion?

Forumotion will not ban a member from a specific forum.

Yes, both. My IP is apparently banned somehow. I know it is my IP or Mac I suppose. Maybe an automated system? I really don't want to have to use a proxy every time I want to visit the site.

Is there a specific one I should try or someone who normally deals with this kind of stuff?

Hello,

I have also experienced that before. I was also banned in one forum but it came back automatically. I just waited.

That's a strange problem... scratch

If you are indeed not banned in any way or form, then please tell them to actually ban you and then unban you and see if that allows you to connect to the forum.

I tried this as well. No dice. Anyway, I'm hoping it's as Russel said an is some weird glitch in the system. In which case I'd like it to be fixed, obviously.

Hello,

Ooh, wait! Have you also tried registering another account then check if its banned also. It can obviously be like banned also because we are talking about IP address but its not bad in trying. Smile

My account isn't banned. I am still able to log in just through a proxy. Also, I can't even register an account on the site so it wouldn't work. If you can't register, you can't log in either.

Solved Re: IP Banned

Post by kirk June 27th 2011, 5:00 pm

did you give the admin the screen shot.
I dont know? i think they may be joshing you?

because when you are banned the account is still there. but if you log in with proxies then it's a totally different ip thats why you are able to log in. VS if they deleted your account then there would be no account to log in to.

But i can assure you it has noting to do with forumotion.. forumotion would not ban anyone from another site, we have noting to do with members forums or how they are ran.

Why dont you tell the admin founder to come here and reply to this thread so we can try to trouble shoot with him to narrow down the problem and see if we can get it fixed.
Defiantly a strange one if they are indeed not joshing you.

This happens to me too on forums, except I'm always marked inactive, though the admins claim they never do anything.

Is this problem solved? You seem to have marked it as solved; please only do that if your problem is actually solved. It would also be helpful if you told us. Wink
