Transferring from free to paid hosting
Hi all
Not sure where to post this so apologies if in wrong section.
I'm trying to assist a friend who has downloaded the free Invision forum but has all the ads and needs to do some optimisation work.
Would it be advisable to transfer to paid hosting and by doing so will this get rid of all the ads and pop ups he's getting on the forum?
Basically any advice on what's involved to transfer the existing forum from its current free hosting to a paid option would be appreciated.
The forum is :
tenerifesforumoffun.com
Thanks

You can buy credits and remove the ads.

Thanks, he did mention that but how can I access the files to optimize them for the search engines? Any ideas?

Re: Transferring from free to paid hosting
Hi, please also note that you are not able to transfer your forum to another host because Forumotion does not hand out its databases.

So what you're saying is if someone wanted to do a fresh install of the standard phpbb on a paid server and was prepared to pay for the database, it would not be possible or is there any options open to the forum operator?

Re: Transferring from free to paid hosting
Unfortunately, even if someone was prepared to pay for the database Forumotion would still not hand it out. This is Forumotion's choice to do this and I can't really do much about it. You can read more on the database here: https://help.forumotion.com/t6668-forumotion-s-forum-databases
