In progress Forum Locked

Post by susannemoorefb September 19th 2011, 05:20

I have just created my forum, www.changingwomen.forumotion.com and down the bottom where it has the buttons for new post, no new posts it also says FORUM LOCKED with a little pad lock next to it. I did see a previous post on this subject and support didn't seem to believe the person and now that thread is closed.

I can not see any way of adding a post to the site, can someone tell me where I can unlock the forum?

Its not the forums locked; it's the forum section that would be locked. But you can chose to lock when you create it. For example if you locked "coffee break disscussion" no one would be able to go in the forums.

Administration Panel>>General>>Forum>>Categories and Forums

Press the modify button for the one you want to unlocked.

There should be some kind of permissions for each category and forum.

Are you freaking out about the part on. The button that says
"forums is locked" ? bwi
If so that is nothing, is the forums key; to undentify each topic picture

I would certainly NOT say that I am 'freaking out". I require an answer, instructions that provide the way to solve this issue. If it is just as simple as an icon that doesn't do much, then why are there no buttons that enable the user to create a post? Go to my page and look at the bottom of the page so that you can see what I am talking about.

I have finally worked it out for myself by creating a new user registration and going through the process. Then looking carefully all over the site to work out how I could post a new thread.

What I was expecting from a support person was to have this type of suggestion instead of the usual throw aways so often used by help desk and support techo's that intimate that the user is dumb. We are not dumb, often just pushed for time.

Hi,

Is this solved? Confused

https://help.forumotion.com/t35100-how-to-unlock-your-forum

If you mean the picture on the bottom it's just the legend, it does not mean anything is locked.

It is there to show the users what image would be assigned to a forum that is locked.
