Members who 'hide'?
Is there a way to stop members being 'hidden' on the forum?
I have one or two that oddly log in hiding but never post?

Re: Members who 'hide'?
What do you mean?
You mean bots?
If you mean members:
Why should a member post? If you for example blocked a specific forum and they want to see it they could just make an account to see that forum.

Hi,
yes, indeed it is - however it's only possible via PunBB & PHPBB2.
You can do both disable it altogether through templates
or, un-hide users via their profile preferences in the admin panel, for all versions.
To disable via templates, for you PunBB:
Admin panel >> Display > Templates/Profile > Profile_Add_Body
In the search box, put in: Newsletter HIT SEARCH do not use Enter!!!!!!!!
You should now scroll down only 4 lines, and see this:
Highlight, and remove it and Hit save, then hit publish
Viola, no-one else can go hidden, and now un-hide the current user via the above method.

Re: Members who 'hide'?
Wish this could be done on all forums or be removed by HTML & JAVASCRIPT i really don't see why we have the hide button as the online icon shows in your profiles still
Re: Members who 'hide'?
Ape, it only appears in the profile if your friends with one another.
Hence when for example, Leeloo is online, you and I can see her, but new members don't.
Greek, your welcome
Might make a tut for this

Re: Members who 'hide'?
oh right thank you darren for that just a shame thiss ban not be removed from all members profile and maybe keep it for just staff
Re: Members who 'hide'?
It could be possible to be made moderator & admin only, I don't see why the currently supplied code in the templates wouldn't cover it, atleast for PunBB (Offhand, I'm certain) but for BB2, I'm fairly certain that it's not realistically possible.
I won't say for a fact, until I've started making the tutorial tomorrow.
