Dealing with a spammer

I wasn't sure where to approach this however, I want to address this to anyone who has a Forum and to the staff of Forumotion. I've found an account that has done something rather inconceivable. The Account name they used was Chaiken and they posted this message. I luckily found it, saved the message.

I want to make it clear that our forum does NOT support this sort of thing and we're a simple Role Play forum for Bleach. This is something I feel should be addressed and if possible, something be done about it from the Forumotion Team. I've currently made the account inactive and pondering a ban if it happens again.

Anyone owning a Forum I'd urge to please remember to check posts in general chatting sections for things like this

After reading your post, I am not quite sure what the problem is. Are you saying that this user is a spammer?

Well I know most spams but I have a feeling this might go deeper then spams. But In case it doesn't I wanted to make sure everyone knew the ACcount they used here. If they log back in I'll supply the IP address to staff as well. What they posted was about TErrorism and Fake PAssports and stuff.

Well, I would simply advise you to keep banning the user. There is no need to make an 'announcement' here as such.

Well I feel there is considering Missing over such a thing can get your forum shut down with ease and the mere cause would be missing over the spammed post.


Edit: So I guess the whole base for it all is to remind people to watch out for Spammers because even just accidently missing over it, or not noticing it can cause your whole forum to be shit down. -shrugs- My apologies if I sort of went about it in a defunct manor.

Not really. Your forum can't get banned for simply having a few posts made by a spammer. If your staff members are efficient, there shouldn't be a problem as long as the spam is dealt with immediately.

If you like, you could also activate flood control on your forum and admin activation.

True enough. Then my apologies for going about it in a manor unbefitting of the problem. Most spam we get isn't as drastic as that sort of thing. ^^; Again, my apologies.
