Help with General section of the AP
hello forumotions, I'd like some assistance on the forumotion of my forum (nwerpg.forumotion.com) I can't seem to get some of the sections i need, for myself and moderators to post topics only, and members can comment. when i put in Administrators for the write topics or messages, it seems to not allow any of my members to even reply; and when i check that part for members to reply, it removes the administration to a blank choice for the topics or messages. It's located in the forum permissions control. I did it for one, but it won't let me now. any help? also if you need more brief explanation I can let that be known.
thanks, Sean Helmsley.
PS: (sorry if this is in the wrong section, if so you can remove it to the correct section.)

Hello,
What exactly seems to be the problem? What permissions are you trying to set? Thanks!

Re: Help with General section of the AP
Hey! I am trying to set my members to be able to post only in some sections, without having the ability to create any topics in that one category/section. i did it for one, but the other sections for permissions im trying to set, are giving me trouble, for example: i either have to let my members post topics and stuff in order to even reply to a Topic. when i only want Moderators, or Admins to post A topic, with members given the ability to reply. (is that understandable?)
EDIT re-read.

Re: Help with General section of the AP
If I understand you correctly, you want to set it so that only your moderators and admins can open up a topic and that members can only reply to a topic?
If so, then that is possible. Simply check 'Open a topic' for your moderators and admin groups but have it unchecked for your members.
Also make sure that 'Reply to a message' is checked for members. Please make sure that you're in advanced mode of the admin panel as well the permissions. If you're unsure of anything, feel free to ask.

Re: Help with General section of the AP
Please don't double post, posts must be separated by 24 hours. Use the edit button in future.
The 'Open a topic' option can be found in your forum permissions at:
1. Administration Panel (advanced mode)
2. General Tab
3. Categories and forums (on the left, under Forum)
4. Click on the permissions sign ( ) on the forum
5. Should be the 2nd option on the 2nd row
