    Solved Login- Passwords

Post by Mukoro June 6th 2013, 1:16 am

A few members of a forum I'm on have been having issues with login in. Particularly every once in a while their password resets to something, (I'm not sure of) and they have to reset it through their e-mail. The owner of the forum has looked through the Administration Panel and verified that it's not a problem from the administration of the site. So there's either a bug/glitch and it's possibly coming from Forumotion. Now I'd like to know a few things, are any other users of Forumotion having a very similar problem or is this just our forum?

I have not see any other members/users post about this kind of issue. Are you saying that members on the forum in question are saying that their passwords are changing after they log off the forum. Could it be that another administrator is changing the passwords?

    A member said the following:

"So my password keeps getting switched and reset on its own. I've had to request a new one 3 times now this morning just to log on. Is there a reason why this is happening?"

    Hi,

When your member enters his or her password and hits enter, does it just keep redirecting to entering the username and password again?

e.g. it doesn't come up with an error?

    Hello,

Kindly ask what browser your members are using? Also, please verify if this is the same issue:

It's also happening here on the support forum, particularly on the Google Chrome browser.

    And yes that is happening."

Its a known issues, apparently clearing your cookies on your browser and phone can solve this.

You can see what The Godfather said about this:

The Godfather wrote:this is tipiclly what hapened when theire is a a conflict between your browser cookies.

you have just to delete all cookies from your browser and it should be solved

However I've experienced mixed results as more often that not when this happens I clear both my cache and cookies and I still can't log back in and I get the same error message. It only ever happens with Forumotion forums, I haven't experienced this on any other forum software.
