Solved New Members forbidden.

Post by murray Thu 17 Apr 2014, 22:05

I've set up a forum (and I'm very new to this, so sorry if I'm doing something stupid) but when someone tries to join the forum, they get a message saying that 'Administrators have forbidden new members' even though on the User and Groups tab 'Allow new members' is set to 'Yes'. In the General tab, under Security, the 'IP address accounts creation limit, for each 24 hours'  is set to '0' for unlimited, so if I try to test it from my own computer I should be able to create test membership, but that doesn't work either. ?????

Hello murray,

Please see this topic :

It will list the options that you may have set which can cause this to happen.

It was the 'holiday' option that had changed. No idea how, but it's working again, so problem solved, thanks!
