@DeadlyX would like to know how to hide the icons shown in the top post, but I have never come across them before, but am interested in where they are available...

If you don't want the topic icons to appear, then simply don't create any icons in the administration panel.

oh... didn't notice that those came with the default skin i used at the first. Ok thanks u can mark this as solved.
