Hello dear staff,

I would like to inform you and to ask you about some things in my mind about the Greek Support.
Currently i am the founder of the Greek Support located here and the owner of the old Greek Support (aka The Professional as a username here and Nemo to his old support) which is in the official forum supports topic. He had his forum official with the domain name of http://greek-support.net but now the domain expired and it went back to http://assistance.forumgreek.com
Nemo registered to my Support forum and told me that since i made a better job to the support and due the fact that is a new one he wants to help me out making my support an official one. He will transfer important topics to the support i have and he will continue to my support forum.
Since greek-support.net has expired and members visit the topic and want to check the greek support and they get a white page, I believe that it should change either to the new support which i have currently either to the old one that goes to the link above.

Any thoughts?

Luffy

You want to redirect users from the old greek support to the new one ? I'd do one of the following :

JavaScript method :
Code:
window.location = 'http://helpgr.forumgreek.com/';

or meta redirection via global announcement module.
Code:
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;URL=http://helpgr.forumgreek.com/"/>

Although for the blank domain page, I'm not sure. Confused

Don't know if i said it wrong or not. I will try once more.
Look now on the official forums support topic there is a link to Greek Support forum that has a wrong link. http://greek-support.net has expired the domain and the founder registered to my support and wants to keep my support active. The http://greek-support.net forum link without the domain is http://assistance.forumgreek.com
What i am saying is since the owner of the old support is supporting my forum wouldn't it be better to change the link on the topic and make it either my link forum or the existing one without the domain which is http://assistance.forumgreek.com

Hope this is clear enough! Confused

Ooooh I think I'm the one that needs more coffee this time. Razz

Well, if he is not going to support the old greek support anymore, there's no sense in directing members to the old one. I went ahead and changed the link. Wink

@Derri The Professional came to my forum and told me that he will help me. I don't mind him helping me. The thing is that he wont be working on the old support anymore since he is helping use making a good support forum for Greek Forums.

@Ange Tuteur thank you! Although shouldn't we get permission from the Admins to consider my forum as an official one?

Like you said, he wont be supporting the old greek support anymore. So, I'm sure they will be in agreement that leading members to an unmanged support isn't helpful. Wink

@Buttercup i was told that if the Greek Support becomes official i might need to give up the founder account. Is that true and if yes how does it work? If you have time to explain to me what happens when and if your forum becomes official i'd really appreciate it! Smile Confused

Hello Luffy

If the Greek support becomes official we will just create an other user account "admin" that the Proadmin can use to access the administrative panel but you will still have the admin access as usual Smile

Ok so it wont be necessary to give the founder account right? We will only Create a new one with access to the Admin Panel!

@Ange Tuteur we thought of because the old Greek Support gained some members back then if we could make members that try to go to http://assistance.forumgreek.com to take them to the new one. Is that able to do via js?

Hey, I mentioned some methods for redirection a little back. Wink

JavaScript would be a good way because you can always disable it to get back into the forum. Meta is a little more complicated, but bypassable with the correct browser settings. Wink

Hello dear staff,

I've noticed something and i would like to ask a question about it. Going to the directory of our community ( : here -> http://www.forumgreek.com/directory/computers-and-internet/forum-management ) our forum has the under construction image we had. Is there any way i / we can change that?

If possible i would like it to have this image instead: https://i.imgur.com/en0AG71.png

@Luffy Did you have anything on the forum at the time which displayed this "Under construction" icone ? If so, whenever your forum was inspected to update the snapshot it must've taken a shot of that instead. I'm not sure how often the snapshots are updated, but my guess would be every 30 days. How long has it been like that ?

Hmm maybe it is a bit longer than 30 days.. I am not sure how the snapshot is changed, so you'll have to await a response from Buttercup to find out. I'm curious about the snapshot update behavior Greek Support issues 217300676
