Hey, I was wondering on how to switch back to the default text when I use a color.

Could you clarify one what you're talking about ? There are numerous places you can change text color; for example : editor, chatbox, topic title, etc..

You still didn't tell me where you're applying the color, but I'll just assume the editor.
If you're using WYSIWYG mode you can hightlight the text and click the "Remove Formatting button", or just click it where you are to remove the current formatting.
If you're not using WYSIWYG mode then you'll have to remove the tags.
If this isn't what you were talking about, then please clarify with a detailed explanation or screenshot.
