Google has requested I copy and paste a 'meta tag' but I can't find where I should put it. It's basically asking I put it in the header code but I can't find the code sheet. Help please. thanks.

Just go to admin panel->general->configuration(in the homepage section). On that page you will see a place for other meta tags. Just paste it there and it will show up just fine for google to find it.
