Solved Transfer Domain Name

Post by Chelly April 12th 2017, 6:55 am

Hello,

Our forum is moving to a private server host and we would like to continue using the domain we have purchased via Forumotion. I saw a post where you use a 3rd party service called GoDaddy where your domains are from. I need information from GoDaddy in order to transfer the URL, and the admin panel gives no such thing.

Can anyone direct me to the person I need to talk to about this?

Hello Seriously,

As it's mentionned just here : https://help.forumotion.com/t128121-domain-name-transfer , it's not possible to transfer a domain name until its validity is expired.

I understand it might be disconcerting, but it's done in order to prevent disorders.

Thanks for your understanding and have a good day Wink

Okay but you don't seem to realize that I can't just let it expire.

URLs are bought and auctioned off based on traffic, and we have a lot of traffic. By the time I let it expire and go to repurchase it, it'll have a high price tag on it because someone probably has it on back-order as we speak. Unfortunately, laws to prevent this still haven't gone through and there's nothing I can do about it.

I don't need you guys to do the transfer. I just need the EPP code so I can get it done myself. Who can provide me with that? Do I need to contact GoDaddy directly?

Nevermind, I'd honestly rather buy a different extension and just leave than have to deal with this crap any longer.
