Pro Admin Member Can't Get In?

Post by LadySibella May 30th 2017, 6:41 pm

    Hi!

I have a member on my forum (http://teaparty.forumclan.com ) who can't log in anymore because she is always getting blocked by "onlineguardian.net" She has not broken any rules with forumotion at all, nor has she logged in with multiple devices.
(only the pc and the same one since years) There has never been any trouble until now.

Her Ip address remains the same (she checked) & she is able to log into another forumotion forum from someone else. Restoring the pc, turning on\off the internet router has changed nothing as well. She can't get past onlineguardian.net no matter how many times she tries.

Every time she attempts to enter she gets this popping up:

    [ONLY TOPIC] Suspicious activity Untitl11

And, when she then clicks on "Click Here" this page pops up from onlineguardian.net :

    [ONLY TOPIC] Suspicious activity Untitl10

She has filled in the blanks with her information, but it does nothing.

I had advised her to clean her cookies and cache & check her pc for viruses, but this has not solved the problem.
I've changed her password, and had her try again, but this has not done anything to help either.

Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks for your help! Very Happy

    Pro Admin Log in problem

Post by Tansy Firedragon May 31st 2017, 9:38 am

    Forum - www.kitchenwitchhearth.com

One of our members has been using our forum for a couple of years - same user name and password each time with no issues.

Yesterday she performed a Windows 10 update on her laptop and now it won't let her log in to our forum.

I have reset her password and she has cleared her cache.

I can sign in using her password and user name from my laptop so we can only assume it is a problem that the Windows 10 update has caused.

Any suggestions or do I need to delete her user details and get her to register again?

    Thanks.

    Hello @Tansy Firedragon,
Might I ask what browser she is using? Also, has she tried using a different browser? Sometimes if you don't keep up to date with browser updates for a certain period of time it could very well not allow you to log in. But, since you said that you can log into her account then there is nothing wrong with it. Having her sign up again won't work because it would not be an issue with the account or forumotion. If the problem persists I suggest for her to contact either windows support and/or the support of the browser she is using.

Not strictly true, the suspicious activity malarkey will allow you to change the password and login as the member, been there done that, but the member still couldn't login Sad

I do appologise if I broke any forum rules, but that wasn't a bump or a double post, I was simply making a comment to two different posts....I'll try to add any (what we're intended to be) helpful comments into one larger post in future

    Hello,.

Has she tried logging in from a different browser or something? If no browser works, tell the user to try and un install a browser and re install it to see if that fixes it.

If not we can pretty assume it is the computer itself causing the issue and if that is the case there is not much any of us can do to resolve the issue.

Does the user get any error messages when they try to login (i.e wrong username or password, etc)? If so can you ask your user for a screenshot of the error?

I have members who just started experiencing this same issue. Can I PM you their info as well? They can't log in because of "suspicious activity" and the form they're sent to fill out just refreshes instead of submitting.

She has tried logging in from a different laptop and a different browser, but still no luck. I have confirmed she is using the correct username and password but she still gets this error message:
