forgot password function failed
I am not a moderator of the forum I am in( I also don't even have a clue as to how I can contact them) but recently I lost my password. I tried using the "forgot password?" function and something failed. I did receive an email with a password but when i clicked on the link, this line of text appears:The activation key you supplied does not match any in the database.
I copied and pasted the passwords that were emailed to me and the system gives me this message: You have specified an incorrect or inactive username, or an invalid password.
I have tried five times and my attempts failed... miserably.
Please help.
forum I am in: http://magicalgirlcafe.forumotion.com/
Also: I am sorry if this is in the wrong forum...

Re: forgot password function failed
Hello when you get a new password sent to you you must type it in the box not copy and paste it as sometimes the copy and paste will add a space in it and this then makes your forum think you have put the wrong password in.
You must also make sure it is 100% the same as we have sent you.
There is no need to use the link on the Email just go on the forum like you would do if you was logging in before this problem.

Re: forgot password function failed
typlo- reread the top post. I did.
Ape. Thanks for your advice but I must be doing something strange or wrong because I did that again... ( the passwords( I tried a few) that I typed were a 100 percent correct. )I tried again twice ... and retyped it but the system gave me the same words as before. I even cleared my cache. If it helps anything, someone on the internet spammed me on another website and I cleared my cache several times. Perhaps that caused the system to think I was being strange? but... then again... maybe not.

Re: forgot password function failed
I am sorry but it did not work. I tried copying and pasting. Then I tried typing very slowly and carefully. Both times, this same error message was produced: You have specified an incorrect or inactive username, or an invalid password. Do I need to do something to my browser? or is it a problem on the forum's side?

Re: forgot password function failed
problem come from having a tick in the keep me logged in box and a space in the beginning of the username / password.
If you have problems with logging in and you get the username or password is not right please try removing the keep me logged in tick then try again.
If you have a Iphone or Ipad you may have to re add the tick to log in to your forum.....
