New Members Unable to Register?

Description of problem

I joined the Forum of the Forums originally because my site had an unusual problem. Shortly after creating it, I invited some friends to serve as staff on the site. Unfortunately, none of them have been able to register, and each attempt has resulted in an error message that basically reads, "Sorry, this username already exists on the server".

I have tried everything to fix the issue, and even tried the techniques that others on FotF suggested, but to no avail. The weird thing is that the problem apparently doesn't affect everyone who tries to register, as one of the people who tried to help previously said they registered without any difficulty (although that member doesn't show up on any records).

I'm at my wit's end with this issue, and I don't know what else to try. Someone, anyone, please help!

An easy resolution to this would be to try the following steps below!

Go to admin panel--> General --> Security --> 'Dis allow subscriptions of the most commonly used usernames?' --> Change this to 'No' --> Click Save.

Please let me know if this does not resolve your issue!

@SLGray All I see is an account called "testbb2018". The username of the friend who's trying to register would be "Reanfan".

I have just managed to create an account successfully. I did not find any difficulty registering. Maybe the member should consider a new username just to see if it's possible to register and then you can change his/her username via the panel.

@TheCrow I suggested it to him, but it didn't work.

Get your member to give you the username Email address and you can make a password and then give it to him / her then they can change it to something they will remember.

It maybe that your members Email address is not right for our systems as some emails are not public.

@APE Okay, I have his email. How do I create his account from the ACP?

EDIT: Okay, I think I see why the member is unable to register. I decided to try registering an account for them, but when it gets to the part where I need to re-enter my password and enter the CAPTCHA code...well, the code doesn't appear, for some reason. :|

I don't see any problem trying to make an account on your forum everything is working fine

I managed to manually create an account for the member, as well as ensure that no-one else has this problem. This topic is now solved. Thanks to all who assisted me!
