My issue :

There is a user on my forum called 'Evil_master' . He couldnt register or wasnt allowed to. I posted the issue here and one of your helpers came up with the sollution : in security, i had to set 'unauthorize commonly known spam names' to 'no'. and that helped! So he registered and just sat there, he's not active on the forum.


What happened already twice now is that, after a while, when he wants to login again and read the forum, he is again not allowed to login. I checked the security again and noticed the 'unauthorize commonly known spam names' was set to 'yes'. So i disabled it again but i cant find any trace back of this user, not in the list, not in the inactive members.... it's like his account never existed. Yet he hasnt deleted his acount , or unsubscribed or anything. The first time that happened i asked him to re-register, which he did, but now this happened again.

So , is he still there somewhere and is there a permanent sollution for this?

Are you the only admin in your forum?
Go again to your security tab in admin panel and scroll down to check the actions

yes i am the only admin

I've checked the security actions and there is no indication in it concerning this issue, i can see him in the list when he registered and that i activated his account

so his account was activated ...did he then join in? did he make any posts?

He never made any posts or even logged in after the registration

Now when he wanted to login, he's not allowed and i dont find him anywhere in the user list, active or inactive, he's just disapeared


I have many users who arent active, they just sit there, but i can see them all in the memberlist, except this one.. hes just gone

I think whenever there's some sort of update the unauthorize commonly known spam names option is back to default 'yes' and that has consequences for him because of his username?

any time you make a change in the admin panel and you save it then it remains saved
are you sure he didnt unsubscribe himself? did you ask him?

i have to say after he contacted me he couldnt log in, i checked the security for unauthorize commonly known spam names, and it was on YES although i have set it to 'no' previously.

So somehow it set itself back to default?

can you please ask him to clear his browser cookies and history and retry to register
you can also make a test and register using his nickname just to check it , after you can delete the account or just let him change the email and the password using his own
