    Solved Forum save / download

Post by dhangarman October 5th 2019, 9:51 am

    Hello,

I have read 2 or 3 posts about downloading (not) the forum to move to another platform. (ex: https://help.forumotion.com/t147711-is-there-a-way-to-save-all-the-forum#1019129)

This is NOT my case, I would like to know how can I save my forum to restore to a previous point.
Example: I delete a threat by "fault". How I may get it "back"?

    Yours

I read that forum backups automatically but at restore tab (I do not need to restore now) says: Backups Not available (in Greek. Not exactly as I wrote but that is the meaning.

    How often will it backup?

Your forum is backed up every day, however in the founders tools you have the option to recover it from the past 4 backups

if your forum is new there will be no backups yet... our system make2 backup's a month (random dates)

so we cant really tell you when your first backup will be made

But for us which are new and "dumb" in Forum Building process, shouldn't be a "safety" if we do something REALLY wrong with our forum?
I mean, me alone have spent more than 40-50 hours to start building the forum (and there are 4 other persons also spending their time) and the last thing we all want is to lose all this work..

Our system only does a full backup once or twice a week, since it does take a good amount of resources to save every single forum on our system. If your forum is only a few days old, then our system has not had a chance to back it up yet. You should start to see backups of your forum within 1 to 2 weeks after you make it.

For the time before its backed up, we recommend having all your codes backed up in a word document on your computer, so that if you make a mistake or mess something up while making changes, you can always restore it to how it was before. Do this everytime you make a change so you have a way to immediatelly restore it if need be. Wink

Consider this topic as "Solved" even if the answer (I mean the way things work) is not so reassuring or "professional" by my point of view.
I do not mean to offend anybody, this is just my personal opinion and I hope someday users will have the "safety" to SAVE their forum by day 1.
