When I got on my forum today via Google chrome I find this happened.  i mean what the heck Forumotion fix this visual error
Fixed to attach file of proof instead of Image code

As by admin cp on chrome

Mind you this on a high end device

It shows the same thing on Wii U console to then just on my tablet Google chrome

Ok this is weird it's only happing to my site only no other Forumotion. Did I do something wrong I mean what the heck Forumotion. I got no report emails nothing an I see my site missing structure to topics. This is alittle unfair that my site gets effected by this an no we're else.

Ok then. The problem still is persisting to keep widgets to automatically to no on phpbb2 no changes today. I am wotching closely on my site if there is a fix

Same here, widgets in CP keeps selection NO to show widgets. I can put it to YES, seems OK for a short while and then suddenly reverts to NO when I reconnect to check. All permissions are on and widgets won't show at all if you are a guest. Also sometimes when widgets decide to show up, they are all over the place. you must boost your forum to get some activity
number of posts, new members are two of the things used to determine activity points.. also how often your forum is looked at and read by others it's not just about your own posts.

You're kidding?? I pay money to forummotion every year for ad blockage and personal domain - and my widgets and portal are being deliberately deleted because of activity points??

Someone had a brilliant idea. Maybe it's time to check for alternatives. Quite disappointed by this new way of doing things. Was nice while it lasted.

This is a joke my word you know it's hard to gain members. Cheap move to remove widgets for zero member forums. I call cheap shoot. Especially paying users Forumotion bad move of use to something free in the first place. I hate this act

You are not paying to use a forum hosted by Forumotion.  You are paying for optional features.  Widgets are not a feature that you have to pay for.

So now Forumotion makes all zero forum more useless now. Why continue have a free forum now online. I extremely hate when sites do this. Sorry it's not right for us to suffer something. Its like taking away something special.

Example: here you want you to do this more or we take this away dum idea.

But fine let's see how often users make forums now with Forumotion now this effects zero.

Statistically it's bad for you and your host.

The decision was made to stop issues that were occurring from forums that had no activity points or abandoned forums.  This affects modified templates, JavaScripts, HTML pages, customized widgets, announcements, etc.

Worst choice ever still utterly destroys your hard work in coding. Also it makes html code generators look like a joke now an useless to use now this has happened @SLGray. Fine have your way next thing is delete zero forums once an for all next step to screwing custom stuff. Since this zero happened I never buying a single cent to ad remove so your team at Forumotion can take a hit for poor choices sorry for rant I hope your proud at a big loss of revenue.

Suddenly my forum is all wacko, portal disappearing or forum disappearing, widgets restructured -
how will this increase views and visitors??
And where can I find out exactly how many views per day/week/month or posts per day/week/month we need to keep the integrity of our forum intact?

Exactly @ptgguy you can actually see via on forum statistics it visually displays active by month or post ect there on your forum. Also exactly will this choice help us it just makes it worse for all phpbb2.

Forum Statistics shows % each month everything really you need to know from new members post just everything @Ptgguy

That doesn't answer @ptgguy query @skouliki. If Forumotion choose to do this we demand numbers to keep things we like stop advoiding the question

But an admin can answer to your question more clearly

Then I ask @Ape or @SLGray to answer  this please or @The Godfather

It's a sites job to announce the changes to it then keep it to themselves.
Normally the admin of any Forumotion can see recent Updates and new features feed by The Godfather

Also exactly how can we get active or members hue answer us that one?

Is it screwing with the custom domain linkage somehow?

Activity points is visible in the AP.

Just to let you know We don't pick to have this update we are not told until it's  put online.
We are then asked to keep an eye on any problems that come to light and report them.

No one on this forum other then The Godfather and Shadow works in the head office, All other staff as well as me and SLGray work from home in our spare time and have no say in any updates.

We understand your frustration and if would could change everything back we would but it's out of our hands all we can do is report the problems and how you feel to our head office and hope they rethink the choice and roll back this update.

Thanks for the answer. This I can understand. It is unfortunate that you are put in the front line to take all the static from forum owners that are upset about changes they were not told ahead of time. It also must be upsetting to the same forum owners to be used as guinea pigs in order to see how bad or good any upgrade will be. This is what I understood reading between the lines. At the end it only creates frustrated people and a lot of wasted time if we would have been told straight out.

Yes - I'm not here to cause static or give admins and mods greif - I'm just looking for information so I can figure things out. I just can't seem to get an answer for a few questions about this. I don't know where else to ask.

So ... this is a new issue to me, this making my forum essentially non-working because of low activity points.  (I Still don't know how many "activity points" are needed to resolve this. Question #1)

My problem ..
I have already pre-paid forumotion to have ads removed up to September 2020.
Also I have pre-paid forumotion for the custom domain name through September 2020.

My forum is now totally usless because portal does not direct to forum or vice-versa, among other issues, because of low "activity points"  
(Catch 22 - forum messed up because of low "activity". Low activity because forum messed up.)

Question #1 - (I've looked in the rules https://help.forumotion.com/c4-about-forumotion
But I don't seem to find anything about this - maybe I missed something).
Can anyone tell me where can I find out exactly how many views per day/week/month or posts per day/week/month we need to keep the integrity of our forum intact?

Question #3 - Is this new no activity policy the reason why now, in addition to the widget problem, I can set the forum to view either the Portal or the Forum, but not both?

Question #4 - Is this new no activity policy somehow screwing with the custom domain linkage?

Question #5 - Is paying money to forumotion for ad blockage and domain name not taken into consideration before deliberately screwing up the forum because of low activity points?

Question #6 - Since I have already pre-paid for a year of ad blockage and domain mame before this new policy was implemented, is there a refund policy about this? And where do I ask about a refund?

3.   We have to wait until we get word from the head office (France).

#1 - Thats too bad. It would be nice to know so we could understand what we need to do.

#2 - I asked because earlier you stated "You are not paying to use a forum hosted by Forumotion." I guess I don't really understand pricing.

#4 - The custom domain URL is now linking to the portal sometimes, and the forum other times.

#5 - Wish I knew the about the upcoming restrictive "activity" policy before I pre-paid for a year of ad blockage and domain.

I think this thread should be renamed to phpBB2 restrictions instead of phpBB 2 Forum Issues. After 11 years (June 2008) my activity points were wiped out to zero on Wednesday morning.

This is not a restriction.  It is a way to stop forums that have outdated/error coding from affecting the servers that all the forums are hosted on.

If these issues are related to no activity points, you can increase your points by posting more, getting more members, members to post more, etc.
