Description of problem

Strictly on Apple products using Safari, there are delays from typing to the typing appearing in a post. At times it takes several second for it to catch up.
Very strange, indeed. Members report only on my forum and only using Apple machines.

This does sound like a browser problem on Apple product's
Please ask your members to Clear their #browser #cache And #history and try again.
Can you also find out some more information for me?

Have they Try and use some other browsers
Device used: / Desktop, Laptop, Mobile phone, Tablet,
Please ask them if they are seeing any data still loading on the bottom left of the screen like this
if YES Please give us the link it is trying to load

We have tries, clearing cookies, cache and restarting. Will suggest trying a different browser.

The issue seems to be linked with the last update regarding the mentions of members. The team is working on this bug.

To remove the problem quickly, you can disable the mention feature "Allow usernames tags" in your Admin Panel: General > Messages and emails > Configuration.

Please let me know if this "solution" works on your forum. Do you know if the bug concerns only iPad or iPhone too?

Yes--iPads and iPhones. I have disabled "allow username tags" and will report back.

Regarding bug 1, a fix has been posted online but we don't know if it works or not.

@Settertude can you test the fix and tell us if the situation is better on apple devices? Please do a CTRL + F5 in order to reload the page without cache.

Will report back ASAP.

The godfather has sent on a fix but we are not sure if the fix is working so can you turn back on the Allow usernames tags and retest it. if you still have a problem please report your problem here.

May i ask what OS are the members running. I'm running Safari (version 14.0.3)in Big Sur (version 11.2), i don't see the issues mentioned above. I'm guessing it must have been fixed or are occurring on the older OSes

I toggled ‘username tag’ back on and the issue returned.

Did you clear your browsers ? after the fix was sent online ?
