Recent Forumotion updates : access to the forum under construction, 2 new widgets, new variable

A number of new features have appeared on your forums lately, here is a short summary.

Access to the forum under construction for moderators

This update to the "Forum under construction" feature, which was made at the suggestion of our users, adds the option to give access to a forum under construction not only to forum administrators (as was previously the case), but also to moderators.

You can manage this setting from your administration panel:

New widget "Latest images"

A new widget is now available on your forums, allowing you to display the latest images shared by your community in topics. As all other widgets, the widget "Latest images" can be activated here:

Please note that this widget will be visible on the forum only if the "Recently shared images" module is enabled.

New widget "Events"

Many of you use the Events module to keep the community informed about real and virtual events. For some time now, a new widget "Events" is part of our collection of predefined widgets. It's a great way to make your events even more visible!

New variable in topics_list_box template, which returns the image URL "og:image" for each topic.

A little novelty that is a bit more technical and the use of which requires template modification.


Now that the tag og:image tag for topics created by admins and members is auto-populated (several conditions apply, including image host etc.), we have created a new variable {topics_list_box.row.U_FB_IMAGE} that works with the topics_list_box template.


This variable returns the URL of the image attached to each topic (if any) in the topics list.
Warning: the variable returns an image if the og:image tag is completed, otherwise the variable returns an empty 1x1 image. Therefore, there is not necessarily an image for each topic.


The result depends on your integration. In the given example, the following code is inserted under the subject description:
