Downloadable manual? Empty Downloadable manual?

Post by Saurus Sat 28 Jun 2008 - 23:39

Don't know if I missed something while signing up, but is there a downloadable manual anywhere I can use to research a few things I need to do? Asking individual question in the design help forum gets old real fast. Things such as forum/category permissions for passworded categories of forums are not answered easily in a brief forum.

Downloadable manual? Empty Re: Downloadable manual?

I don't know if the FAQ updates have begun since the latest updates have changed the admin panel, but all I know is that the permissions-related tutorial is outdated.

But I can say that it is not possible to protect a section with password. Permissions must be done by group access. If you aren't at ease with the current system, you can try the old phpBB2 system via the old panel you can access by clicking "Old version" at the bottom of the panel's homepage.

I'm using the phpBB2 version on my test forum already:) The group/rank system is unfamiliar to me and is causing a few problems. Having a category that is not seen unless one is a member of that group is absolutely a requirement before I move from a hosted forum to my own phpBB2 one. I don't care for the look of phpBB3 at all.
