( Only Topic ) Recent Server Issue / Problem

First topic message reminder :

I've made a age of conan guild forums here, and now it just shows a white screen when I try access it, could someone help me? Name of the forums is http://chaoticlegion.forumakers.com/

I was impressed by forumotion because of its friendlinesss and ease at usage. However, with continuous problems like this, I'm afraid someday something may happen to all the data.
Dear admins, can you tell me how I can prevent it? It's ok if I have to pay or something like that. But last time during the process of trying buy some credits, the link leading to Paypals showed the white page again even using Firefox or Internet Explorer ...
By the way, can anyone tell me how to back up data and move to other host? I'm new on this and I really appreciate if someone just give me some hints.

hmmm.. this happened if i'm not mistaken, 2nd time this year??? just calm down and let the experts handle it.. lol

freeforums don't let you backup all your data from the admin panel. unfortunately. if i could ever backed-up all those messages and topics, it wouldn't be this much messed up.

Unfortunately, we discovered at our forum that forumotion has the rights to that database and will not let you take it with you when you leave. But, they do backup your forum and you can restore it if it should be lost. You just can't take it with you if you change hosts.

Problem is widespread. See 8+ other threads on this started in the last hour in both connection problems and other problems forums.

I agree. This is ridiculous; I wish there was a way to merge all these threads!!!

There is - just only the admins can do it. The mods might, though, I think.

It's now 4 am our host's time. They are all asleep. When we all had blank pages because the server was down earlier this week, we all waited until the techs got up and discovered the problem. I think it was about a 7 hour wait; forums came back online about 2 am my time.

I just hope that once they discover the problem, they will soon be able to fix it. We have a large event, our very first, scheduled for tomorrow evening.

True most aren't aware I'm sure if they wre it would be solved.

Well, a few forums aren't affected by this which is odd...

You're welcome...it's not only scary, it's frustrating. Since I'm a new forum too, I need all the "google" exposure I can get to get new members. I've lost all my google indexing now since last Wednesday and it takes about 1 month to build it up again, if they will.

I just had a new member join as well, a few moments ago, first one in days and wouldn't you know that the forums are down and this new person will be unable to read any posts, reply, nothing. I'm going to have to post another announcement to my members explaining what has happened again.

Maybe we'll be lucky and someone's stayed up keeping an eye on it since the last issue...

I know that two aren't. One wasn't even effected by the last white page incident which was weird. It could be because of the main Admin's location. Doubt that though.

I am getting errors everywhere I turn. My site has been active for 3 days now with four members and more wanting to join, but with all these errors how is somoene to post or anything at all.
I am getting the following errors on the board.
GENERAL ERROR
Could not obtain post/user information.
Could not obtain post/user information.

Getting this through the ADMINISTRATION PANEL
GENERAL ERROR
Could not obtain security log information
Could not get smiley list
Couldn't obtain ranks data
Could not obtain best polls results

If someone could please tell me what I did...or whats happening would be appreciated.

How do you post if you can't access your forum? When it is back up, I've been announcing these problems too. But during down time, we are all locked out.

Google had just started indexing us seriously only a few days ago. But yahoo bots have been on our site almost daily.

How do you get them to index your site?

Well, the biggest forum has been hit as well.

Yes, sorry...I meant I will be posting an announcement when things are working properly again.

Doubtful, since no one has been online to let us know, and it has gone on now for about 1 1/2 hours.

In outages do to server trouble in the past, if it happens when they are there, someone, a moderator or admin. comes online and lets everyone know what's going on, and they have lasted at most less than an hour.

What's concerning me is that they keep happening, and they are happening more frequently. Our forum is only 10 weeks old, and since that time, there have been over 5 widespread outages like this.

Hello... just by making sure your forum is visible and not closed out to guests, enabling bots to crawl your site through admin, using proper key words and tags in your forum description etc.
