Is my forum activated?

I have no idea if my forum is activated or not, a friend did try to join, but could not.
Also I can't seem to see any log in button? or is that only visible to people not logged in as I can see a log out button.

Sorry if I am a noob at this, I have only moderated forums :|

Your forum is activated.

Check that you allow new members in your Admin Panel (Users & Groups > Users Options).

Also, if you are logged in, the Log Out button will show. If you are logged out, the Log In button will show.
