How do I add a homepage message?

I know how to send out the welcome message via PM, but how do you add a message to your forum homepage? Ive seen a few forums with this and wonder how..

You can add a personalised message by either adding html or just simple text

1. Log into your forum

2. Navigate to

Admin Panel\Display\Generalities (On the left hand side under Homepage)

it is entitled "Homepage Message"

Once you have entered your message press "Save"and it will update straight away on the top of your forum

If you have a portal u can

You can also add a separate html based page as a homepage aswell

Have a look into myself and others homepages to see what i mean
