Solved Portal Width Problem

Post by vikingdriver November 4th 2008, 2:14 am

My Portal is running about 100 pixels to large. I've adjusted the page width in both Page generalities and on the CSS Sheet as well as re-adjusting image sizes that are in my widgets and still have the same width problem. Is there another place that I've not thought of?

The forum pages are perfect and have resized accordingly yet the Portal still remains as stubborn as ever.

Did you use 3 column of portal? best to use only 2 column on portal just like this help site portal. Its because usually people will put news on middle column, If you put any picture on your news (announcement) it will screw up with portal 'column 3' block.

Another thing may cause this problem is there is script error on your customize portal block. thats in case if you did put one on portal .

I am using the tree column and as you suspect I do have images in the news column. Yet that column remains the same size and I do make sure that the images do not stretch the column. (It has happened) the problem lays in the third column. I've also reset the percentage parameters to decrease the middle column and it does respond to the resize but still that third column is still extended

there is some bug issue with column 3 on portal bugs, im afraid there is no way to fix it unless technies do something about that,

best solution you can have now is just remove 3rd column and put it on first column, Of course you need to increace column1 width to meet you forum width perfectly Smile

It seems as if the issue has either resolved itself or a techie went behind the scenes without mention and fixed it. if so, Bless them!
