My Portal Width Empty Re: My Portal Width

Post by DBCrazy July 28th 2009, 7:19 am

I'm a new admin, and we're experiencing the problem of weird column widths also.

Our three columns are already set up at 20%, 60%, and 20%. The way it looks it's more like 10%, 150%, 10% though. (I know that doesn't add up but it gives the idea that the center column is way too big!)

What I don't see in the "Structure" section is anything in the Headers and Footers, but we do have those on the Portal Page. I don't know where they're coming from, but they are the same as on the Forum page.

Any ideas where I should start looking to fix this problem?

So have you looked in the portal widgets section? You may need to click the advanced link.

My Portal Width Empty Re: My Portal Width

Post by DBCrazy July 28th 2009, 2:27 pm

I'm an Admin2 and there are a couple sections that I couldn't see when I was being shown around the admin panel. That may be something I'm missing.

I'm in Modules / Portals & Widgets / Portal management / Structure (for the Portal page). In the portal frame I see the top section showing our placement of the widgets, and below that the "Create a custom block", the basket, and the available widgets.

Am I missing visibility on something that I need to fix this?

My Portal Width Empty Re: My Portal Width

Is there anybody out there willing to help with this problem.

My widgets on the portal are not correctly spaced and there's apparently nothing that I can do to fix it. Right now there's 3 columns, spaced at 20%, 60%, 20%. Unfortunately they show up something like 5%, 85%, 10% and about 30% of that is way far off the right side of the header.

I've looked everywhere I can think. Is there a manual somewhere that I can read on how to do this?? I love manuals. I'm willing to help myself, but I do need some help on this.

Please.

Is it this site? http://www.theaby.org/

I looked at it and it seemed fine to me. Doesn't appear like how you were describing it.

Yes, that's the site. You're looking at the portal, right, because the forum is fine.

This is what it looks like for "us". Does it look like this for you? Because the total width of the widgets and news section shouldn't be any bigger than the header.

Thanks for checking on it for me.
