Rank Question

Is there a way where you can set rank to be altered by something other than postcount and manual changing? Perhaps a custom field on a user's page that they can alter?

I ask this because my board is the discussion forum for a rather large online game alliance, and I'd like the forum to be able to determine rank via a user-entered ingame points value instead of having to set it manually every time someone gets enough points for the next rank.

Make it such a way that users are allowed to change the fields, & replace the warning bars with some other images that you want.
